Question by Steven S: Why is it so cool to bash the UFC? “Dana White is an idiot!” “UFC fighters suck!”?
Its been shown time and again that the best fighters (with a few exceptions) fight in the UFC. If a world class fighter does not fight in the UFC, he probably will be soon. As a big fan of MMA, I would prefer to have the best fighters under one main promotion (i.e. NBA, NFL, MLB). I dont want to track several different championships from several different promotions, like boxing.

I didn’t know it was cool to bash the UFC, but now that you told me, I’m going to do it 24/7!!!
Know better? Leave your own answer in the comments!
because people need someone to hate. like in MLB it is the Yankees or in NFL it is the Cowboys. people hate it when a organization obsorbs talent and other organizations can’t. personally to me i say keep other organizations it works out for the fan, he get atleast 100-200 fights a year with all the organizations like SF, UFC, DREAM, Bellator, WEC (R.I.P), IMPACT FC, Powerhouse, and hell even K-1 does MMA atleast 3-5 times a year. also Dana White is a great busniess man. but, sometimes he acts like a child. case in point Fedor signing with SF instead of UFC. but hey as long as he puts together great fights i am happy.
I don’t think people understand the politics that go on in running a successful business such as the UFC. On top of that, it’s difficult to understand the responsibilities that go on backstage and the decision that must be made. Many decisions by top players in big companies may seem brash and also awkward but would make perfect sense by the guys who run the show because they know all that must go with running that successful company. If the UFC started failing as an organization people would still put down Dana White and consider him to be a terrible president for failing and people would consider the UFC a joke. It’s not and that’s because of the decisions made by Dana White and co.
For me, who does bash the UFC because it is so, easy.
Honestly with a few exceptions the UFC doesn’t have the best fighters in the world.
Only a hand full out of the whole organization:
Brock Lesnar
Cain V.
Dos Santos
Frank Mir
LHW
Rua
Machida
Evans
Anderson Silva
MW
Anderson Silva
Damian Maia
WW
I hate GSP because he is a cheater, Vaseline / steroids = cheating
Anthony Johnson
Koscheck is on the verge only if he can beat the cheater.
13 fighters whom I have respect for, and classify as above average
Plus, Dana White, brash, disrespectful towards the sport, the fans, and even his own fighters
shameful, and an embrassassment to the sport of mma.
MMA needs to be considered to boxing not the NBA, NFL, or MLB which has teams and thousands of players.
MMA is not a league, but an independent sport with individuals. When that individual steps in to fight, he/she doesn’t have a team surrounding them to “help” .
Also, MMA should / needs 3 / 4 other organizations that have / share independent fighters
and co-promote events.
Therefore, we the fans will have champions, and at times Unified champions
and it will make the SPORT so, much better.
Especially if there is a revision of the rules of mma.
There are hundreds of thousands of fighters through-out the world. With hundred of thousands of fighting promotions. Just because the UFC has a stupid reality show, that showcases young, immature people but gets good ratings for the USA tv programing doesn’t mean that they have the best fighters.
And for a fighter to have Top Position for 19 minutes, but cannot KO, TKO, or even submit his opponent, but TAPS out with 4 minutes to go, is an embrassassment. Even after getting caught for usage of steroids. (That guy should not receive another title shot for at least 4 victories)
Furthermore, a fighter who has vaseline applied on, during a fight, especially a championship fight
should have been DQ’d PERIOD.
So, this is my argument as to why, it is so, easy to bash on the UFC.
Oh. one more…Rua vs. Machida I,
Like it or not, Machida won the first fight. 3 judges agreed to a unaminous decision in favor of Machida. But only Dana White can have his own opinion and decided to make an immediate rematch. That is just BS, and discredits the judges, and the sport.
Koscheck vs Johnson- From eye poking to an appeared knee to the head , which did not take place
to continued eye poking (that match should have been a rematch later)
Dan Henderson the rightful #1 contender to the Middleweight title got the boot.
Jake Shields, the Strikeforce Middleweight Champion comes into the UFC and had to fight
someone other then the Champion plus, Shields is on a 15-0 streak.
Chris Leben is in the UFC , hahaha enough said.
and although I know my spelling is bad, I won’t use the spell checker, because the rent is to damn high.
I bash it not for the quality of fighters, but for how they marketed to a new target audience and how they changed it from what it was to what it has become.
I LIKE BASHING MANY GREEDY SCUM SUCKING BULLIES…
