Question by Harry B: What will happen to Top Rank if Arum “Retires”?
Lets face it, Arum’s age is in the critical stage where Health and Wise Decision Making are becoming a Major Issue. In case (God Forbid) something happens, WHO will take over Top Rank? I know fighters are bound by contract but it seems that Arum has not nominated nor started grooming his replacement who could handle his remaining Prize Figthers.
With the current situation in boxing, it seems that the key players are Top Rank and Golden Boy, DK, DiBella etc doesnt have much going on.
My second question, Will Golden Boy’s plan to create a “UFC” type of boxing or lets say “Monopoly” happen when Arum “RETIRES”?

As you say, King has practically fallen by the wayside, as he gets older and Arum will do the same. That’s why Oscar was smart enough to get involved knowing both these leaders would eventually retire. Funny, you don’t see Carl King taking more interest. Oscar will rule just like others have over the past 100 + years.
Give your answer to this question below!
It seems to be going in that direction Arum has his son he could take over and what about Don King.
Arrum is 104 years old. He’s READY TO CROAK!!
Most likely someone from Arum’s family takes over as the CEO but doesn’t matter as long fights are made.
Oscar De La Hoya is the founder/owner of owner of his promotion, but doesn’t change the fact that Richard Shaefer runs the company.
Another example, Bill Gates retired from Microsoft. The company is still around.
If he go on and will retire.
The company will still there, hire some responsible people to manage it and gain some boxers to handle with, promote some events wherein things is purely business, and the absence of one person is just a piece that will not going to affect its Company’s operation.
Good luck
…………..
He will let floyd mayweather jr run his company…
He has people working for him. He has business partners who can take over as CEO of Top Rank.
DOESNT-HAVE MUCH-GOIN-ON will continue, downsliding a bit faster…
especially if pac also retires….
MMA sucks but welcome to the new world
If arum retires, pacman and mayweather fight. arum has been messing up boxing for quite a few years and ODLH should take over as the premier promoter. When is the last time pacman got in the ring where he had it close? If ODLH does do the UFC thing, I think it should be for lower class fighters trying to make a name for themselves and that will hopefully revive the sport of boxing as a whole..
