Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who is one of the most powerful and influential senators in American history, d¡ed Tuesday night at his home in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts after a yearlong battle against brain tumor. Sen. Kennedy was diagnosed last year after having a seizure.
The Democrat spent more than 40 years in the Senate, becoming known for his hard work on health care, civil rights and education.
