There is no phone called an “Android”, when phones are called “Androids” they are considered to use the Android operating system.

Keep in mind all Android phones are smartphones and you will be required to pay an extra $ 30 for the data plan of any smartphone.

The Android operating system are the only open sourced operating system used on phones. This means that it’s code is open to millions of developers across the world (this is in no way a bad thing). This means that improvements can be found, apps can be easily created, and therefore, Android OS phones are an extremely viable choice for a smartphone.

From an unbiased perspective (I am a dedicated Blackberry user):Overtime, the Android OS WILL indeed be better than all other phone operating systems including the Apple iPhone OS.

“Android” isn’t a phone – it’s an operating system used on many different smart phones from different companies, including the Motorola Droid, the HTC Droid Eris, Motorola Devour,

Other popular phone operating systems are the iPhone OS (only available on the iPhone), Windows Mobile from Microsoft, WebOS on the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi, Blackberry OS on Blackberry phones.

Apps made for one operating system will work on any phone with that operating system – but won’t work on any other operating system.

Anyway, Android is available on a lot of different phones, and is second only to iPhone in the number of available apps. Android allows multiple programs to run at the same time (multitasking) but iPhone doesn’t. On the other hand, because Apple controls which apps can be released, the overall quality of iPhone apps is a bit better than Android apps (though you can find equally good apps on both).

The Android OS is one of the top phone OS.

The iPhone is playing catch up with it with its new OS.
