Anamika Veeramani – Stromuhr – 83rd Scripps National Spelling Bee 2010 Winner
Anamika Veeramani, an 8th grade from Incarnate Word Academy won the 83rd Scripps National Spelling Bee Friday night with the word stromuhr, a rheometer designed to measure the amount and speed of blood flow through an artery.
The 14-year-old Anamika Veeramani, spelled the word “juvia†first to complete the round, then spelled the word “stromuhr†to become the National Spelling Bee winner.
“Go Cavs!” Anamika said, shortly after accepting the winner’s trophy, which also comes with more than $40,000 in cash and prizes.
