It’s been like that since photography became widespread, really. Possibly with the invention of the radio or TV.

Yes she is right, the young people want to their presence known be it good or BAD.

That begs the question of, how did George Bush get “elected”?

She has a good point. Personally I want my party to win so I am going to vote for whoever is in the lead when it is my turn to vote. I have 2 Candidates that I would prefer… but I also have 8 that would kill me to see win the election.

What your talking about is the term “Electablity.”

LI is a smart woman, I listen to her show also, I like her.

When candidates have no big differences on the issues…it comes down to who people like the most

    6. misan says:

When you don’t also consider the candidate’s integrity and earnestness in protecting our freedoms it really doesn’t matter.

American Idol usually have good singers by the time the show airs. If Obama is elected he is such a wild card that no one really knows what he would do; he probably doesn’t even know himself. He is just a power monger in my opinion. The American electorate is essentially ignorant of important issues and vote on image rather than substance.

Her comments were not addressing race. They are addressing the swift & at least reported domination of the Dem. NOMINATION race based on little time passing and the laziness of many who do not research and think for themselves.

The broadcast/print media sound bites & headlines, combined w/ biased polls by all sorts of people who want to manipulate the vote by “perceived” momentum are seeming to “determine” nominations and a national election that are months away.

It is my sincere hope that people in our country will not get lazy. They will look for feedback from constituents in the states of these congress people & past governors. They will listen to the speeches and debates in whole & on their own to determine the choices – not rely on the media & others to tell you/distort what actually happened. Insist on more than passion-speak on what the candidates believe, but on what they actually have done and what they specifically plan to do

It should not yet be over for any candidate. It is too soon to determine this – at least for any literate and thinking society.

      No. That was Reagan.

    10. Greener says:

That’s all the presidential election has always been a popularity contest. If you’re not popular you don’t get elected lol

    11. vadude says:

she’s right in the sense that there are just too many idiots in this country brainwashed by the media. she’s wrong because the majority of the electoral will stand up against this media onslaught of CHANGE crap not electing a muslim disguised as christian the president.

No. Marketing has been a huge part of American Elections since the start. Since the eighties it has really precluded a substantive discussion of issues — many of us still rue the day Ronald Reagan was ever born. George Bush has never seemed any different from any other Reality Show candidate, and while that was true the first time Clinton ran for most of us, by his second run he had distinguished himself from the other posers.

    13. jneg7 says:

Yes it is horrible. The election should not be decided on marketing gimmicks and slogans. The best motivational speaker is not necessarily the best President.

There is no excuse either. There is a wealth of information on each and every candidate on the web. As a voter, I have never had so much information available to me . It is rather easy to do some research.
